This is a beautiful representation of an historic banyan tree on Gasparilla Island, Florida, in the town of Boca Grande. Called “The Octopus Tree,” its tentacles have intertwined with Gilchrist Avenue since it was part of the du Pont Crowninshield compound in the early 1900s. It will need to be reframed, as it went through a hurricane and came out on the other side with a small piece of the glass taken out. It is approximately 16 X 20 and the artist is M.C. Klein.
